Chocolate Cookies


1 cup butter

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 cup cocoa (bitter, not sweet)

2 teaspoons vanilla

8 ounces (1 cup) sour cream

4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 cup dried or shredded coconut

 

Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer, add in eggs.  Still with mixer, add vanilla, cocoa, sour cream. 

Sift flour, salt, and baking soda together, and add to mix with a spoon.  Stir in walnuts and coconut with a spoon.

Drop by teaspoon size on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake at about 170C for about 10 minutes or until firm.  Remove and cool.
