Troparia, Tone 2

The noble Joseph took down your most pure Body from the Cross, wrapped it in clean linen and anointed it with fragrances, and placed it for burial in a new tomb.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

When you went down to death, O immortal life, You destroyed Hell by the rediance of Your Divinity; and when from the depths of the earth You did raise the dead, all the Heavenly Powers cried out: O Giver of Life, Christ our God, glory be to you!

Both now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen..

The Angel standing by the tomb cried to the myrrh-bearing women: Myrrh is fitting for the dead, but Christ has shown himself not subject to decay.
