A full-time postdoctoral fellow (PDF) position is available. This position is funded by National Science Council (NSC), Taiwan for the project on “Coupled degradation of heavy metal ion and priority pollutants by immobilized zerovalent metals on porous nanomaterials”. The appointment is one-year, and can be renewable up to three years based on satisfactory performance and publication. The PDF starts from October 2006 or upon agreement.
II. Primary work and responsibilities The PDF is expected to be involved in or responsible for the following: • Extensive research on the fabrication of highly ordered porous nanomaterials and immobilization of zerovalent on porous nanomaterials. • Coupled degradation of metal ion and priority pollutants by zerovalent metals. • Lead research teams consisting of postgraduate students. • Coordination among the research groups and international collaboration are also required.
III. Qualifications Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science and Technology or Chemistry fields. In particular, research experience in environmental chemistry, surface chemistry, material science or analytical chemistry is preferred. Applicants should show their ability to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills, good writing and oral communication skills are also required.
