在科學發展的過程中,不論是在材料、環境或物醫學等相關的科技研究中,分析化學一直扮演著一相當重要的角色,從分析化學所提供的分析監控資訊,不但可以了解不同樣品中各種成份分佈的情況,更可藉此改善產品或環境品質,進而提高產品的生產效率或增進人類的健康。
現代科學技術對分析數據的需求,也不再侷限於"是什麼"和"有多少",而是要求提供更多的,更全面的訊息,從常量(Major)到微量(Minor)分析;從組成(Component)到組成物種(Species)分析;從整體(Bulk)到微區(Micro-area),表面(Surface)及層次(Depth-profile)分佈分析;從巨觀(Macro)的組成到微觀(Micro)的結構;從靜態到快速反應追蹤分析;從破壞試樣到非破壞分析;從非線上(Off-line)到線上(On-line)分析等等。
近年來,本實驗室為滿足現代科學在了解微量元素及其物種在不同載體(環境介質,工業材料,生物組織)中所扮演角色的需求,目前的研究方向包括:
