Chapter 18

Donkey says, “I got a dragon here and I’m not afraid to use it.”  This is a joke from some action movies where the hero or tough guy may say “I’ve got a weapon/gun here and I’m not afraid to use it.”

The same kind of paraphrase of another movie character can be seen in “I’m a donkey on the edge.” On the edge here means something like “on the edge of violence or madness”.  In other words, be careful or I might become dangerous or lose my temper.
